Saving battery power in WiFi mode
N95, WiFi April 21st, 2007The N95 initially comes with its WiFi power set to a whopping 100mW.
That is going to chew some serious battery power if you use WiFi mode extensively.
Why not give this a try and set your WiFi power to 10mW
Tools – Settings – Connection – Wireless Lan – Options – Change – Yes – Options – Advanced Settings – Yes
Then scroll down to Tx power level and select 10 mW

Hi there!
Great tips, didn’t know about the number keypad shortcuts in the applications menu (even though my SE phones had them as well).
I think however that when the advanced settings are on automatic, the N95 varies the output with a 100mW only used while scanning or when necessary because of range. Only when You turn off the automated configuration will it always use the same mW level You set.
But yes, 10mW is usually enough for Your regular connection.
Say, You wouldn’t know of a way to create a shortcut to said menu? Turning the automated configuration on and off is quite annoying as it is rooted so deep within the system preferences…

Can anyone tell me if they have tried the new BL-6P battery (1200 mAh) released for the N95 8GB. It may increase battery life over the BL-5F (950 mAh) provided with my original N95.

Hi can anyone tell me how you can save the time and date on the n95 so that when your battery runs down and the phone switches off it automatically updates itself to the present time and date instea of me having to reset it everytime i switch my phone on from re-charging the battery?
