I feel sorry for Australian 3 Folk if they only just got their phones.
I’ve had mine for a month!

Don’t feel sorry for us, we could have gone with Vodafone if we really wanted to but many were just waiting for a network that could support all the mobile has to offer without absurd connection charges.

Hey guys had my N95 for about a month now but some annoying things I cant work out and maybe you guys know or maybe Im just stupid.
I need to add a ToDo note or something on the calendar which alerts me once a month but I cant figure out how to do it. I get pretty frustrated if I cant do it straight off first time so I thought I would ask you guys.
Cheers

This is not really a general support forum, but if someone posts a response to your comment I’ll turn it into a tip.

Hey guys,
Just wondering for those who are with three Australia…have they blocked out any services such as Wifi or Voip? Heard the Orange UK n95 has internet telephony settings missing.
Could someone please advise.

@Steven: thanks for letting me know..Does that mean i can use Skype through my wifi or will I have to go through threes X Series?
June 4th, 2007 at 11:33 pm
Steven/Vanquish: Skype/MSN/GoogleTalk/etc can all be found through Fring (check MyN95 Links page). This lets you choose Wifi/Planet 3/etc as your connection.

@Shannon: This is weird, getting 2 different stories from three… One store said that i have to go through X-series is i want to surf the web or use chat. the other says i can go through wifi. don’t really want the phone if i’m going to have to pay handset costs, plan cost and x-series costs.

Vanquish: I have the phone with 3 and I’m able to browse through wifi as well as x-series. When I select Web for browsing on the phone I’m prompted to select an access point (Search for WLAN/3 MMS/Mobile Internet/Planet 3). When searching for WLAN I can select my wireless access point and away I go. Not sure if you’re unable to with the 3 branded firmware as I debranded my phone as soon as I got it ;P

can u really use msn with 3 network for n95 in australia? when i got the phone, the retailer was telling me that 3 doesnt support msn/yahoo messenger with n95. And is voip working for 3? I tried using it but it says no services found when i cant even set the access point or anything.

oh, and i heard that debranding the phone makes it more stable and faster, is that also true for n95 with 3network in australia?

have had my n95 8 gig for a few months and would like to have it unlocked from the australian 3 network. is this as simple as the old days and just a matter of taking it to a phone stall who have the battery/sim writers and getting them to do it or can it be done by via the phone by myself. i did try searching and found no answers but if i missed it please.. do provide a link! if more information is required please let me know. Thanks in advance. A great site, very Helpful!

thanks admin.. but isnt that just removal of the oporator logo and their addons??? it might be a language issue or the wording im using.. i want to put another sim card(not the provided one with my phone) in. due to using the phone for buisness I tend to make alot of expensive calls and would prefer to use my optus(australia) prepaid rather than my ’3′ (australia) contract sim…
sorry for draggin this on.. but am really confused.. debranding, unlocking, yada yada.. whats the issues and topics iv seen regarding BB5? or is that been and gone and soemthing new is about..
thanks for taking the time to respond. its greatly appreciated.
