N95 8GB only show 995 mb of built in memory instead of 8GB

I just bought the black N95 8GB nokia and it show only 995 mb of memory instead of 8gb. please can anyone help me to solve this?

I am sure this regular reader would appreciate any feedback on this.
My initial thought would be are you reading the memory off of a memory card plugged into the side slot rather than the base memory of the unit?

The 8GB of internal memory should be displayed as a drive with the name of the drive being E:

What are you using that shows 995MB of memory? Can you confirm that you are looking at _mass_memory_ and not _phone_memory_?
The N95 8GB doesn’t have a side slot for a memory card.

995 memory i checked is of memory card inside the phone.

tool-file manger-memory card and here it shows memory card memory of 958 M total.

When you are in Tools->File Manager, there are two “tabs” at the top. I am assuming you are on the one on the right. Go to Options->Memory Details. That should give some information on where memory is being used.
To view Mass Memory and backup the phone memory there: Tools->Utilities->Memory. It will show you the capacity there. Mine reads “7672 MB.” I guess when Nokia says “8GB” they don’t mean 1024MB per GB.

I know this sounds kind of stupid, but is the back-camera horizontal or vertical to the flash?
Where I live,(sometimes) stores frame customers for extra money by changing classic N95 phone’s back part with the 8GB’s.

Phone is fake its a 8g clone that i have recently bought my self 2 days ago. Go return it and actually buy a real one also i would highly suggest staying away from ebay

lols… nokia n95 has no memory slots.. so if you find that your memory card is 1 gb or 2gb, your a victim of fake n95 8gb…
