Is this update not available to UK users yet?

Been runnin this F/W for a day now and everything seems to go really smooth and fast! My previous F/W was v20.0.015 as I was not interested in the 21.0.016 version cos it sounded to buggy….by all reports!
I just downloaded the latest NSU and backed up my phone and it took about 30 mins…

I’m not seeing this one in the U.S. either. Tried last night. 21.0.016 is listed as the current version.

Hi, i hve just updated my n95-1 from v 21.0.016 to 30.0.015 but i found a little bug. The battery meter seems to freeze to full batt but after a reboot it shows only 4 bars left.
Does anyone else have this problem?

To Neil and Bob
Not sure why you cannt find the updates, but try downloading and installing the latest Nokia updater from the Nokia website. It will give you all the instuctions by on screen prompts i.e where to find the codes needed.
Make sure your phone is charging while updating as my phone got bricked when it ran out of power halfway through the update. Luckily I managed to persuaded Tmobile to send me another N95 for free…as there is a 2 year warranty. Phew
Seems quicker overall and there are less memory time outs while surfing. I heard the N958GB has more RAM than the N95 so will not crash as ofen is that true? But Nokia took away the lens cover on the N958GB that is on the N95 which is crap.
I Have not tried how the map/navigation application works on the updated firmware yet but I found after an update it helps to reformat the micro SD and reinstall all sofware. This procedure helps avoid small bugs ang lags. Will post an updated review after testing (if I have time/remember to).
Thanks to the site creators. This site is great.

To those having issues not seeing the update, its likly that your provider is not on the allow list of mobile codes currently. “3″ in Australia customize the firmware before releasing it on NSU, other providers might do the same. If you tech savvy and want that firmware not you can change your mobile region code and get the update that way, but I dont think its worth the risk.
I have found a few bugs and crashes so far, the frist time i used my bluetooth headphones the phone restarted, and also randomly when browsing music.
Maps needed to be reinstalled from scratch and all new maps needed to be downloaded too, this would of been resolved with formatting my memory card but not worth the effort to backup 8gb.

hmmm… lots of mention of 8Gb going on here.
Is this v30 update for the n95 8gb only?

Changing your product code to get the latest firmware is soooo easy, and you can revert back to the old product code if you ever need to return your phone to your supplier.
Do a search for N95 product code change. Then you can debrand your phone and get all the latest firmware updates as soon as they’re out!

After upgrading to v30, my phone after a while will stop getting calls and gives a ‘mobile off tone’ to anyone who calls me. I need to reboot for it to get calls again…anyone has this problem or know what to do?

“Downloaded this latest f/w and so far no probs, works perfectly. It’s about time they got something right at Nokia……”
In fairness, the n95 is easily the best phone i’ve owned and the frequent Firmware updates (I think mine has had 3 now) keep it fresh and interesting.

Hi
Just upgraded my N95 to 30.0.015 rm-159 (01.01 ) and the camera did not work right away. restarted and now it seems to be working . Yeah and I lost my contacts but I think I can drop them back in from the back up. Rotate is working but can not find the application, only on and off. Is this Samirs’ app Rotate me? Thats it for me Oh the phoneappears to work faster.
October 21st, 2008 at 4:12 am
when you update your FW it will wipe all files on your phone (apart from memory stick) so make sure you do a full backup first. when restoring you can pick n choose what bits to put back, eg contacts only, or msg’s + contacts, etc
the rotate app is one nokia has made, and as you have found out there is only on/off. no actual app as such as its not a built in feature. mine is also faster to load from boot, but displaying a contacts phone number is god awfully slow.

John: are you with O2?
I am only getting that version too. I think it may be time to de-brand my phone in order to get this new Firmware. I suspect that O2 have stopped branding the Firmware for the n95 now…

Aamie: you can upgrade your phone FW offline using Phoenix offline software updater.
