Mine used to work fine - since I upgraded, I had some concerns.

I followed the response # 49 above.
Then I saw, Assisted GPS, Integrated GPS - both checked.

I disabled Assisted GPS - its now instant.

I will have to wait and see, if this is going to be the case.

Hi Guys,
I tried to install following Neils instruction, but failed. But I found out that the date format on my phone was not allowing it, after that I changed date format to use '.' as date separator, it installed on my N95.

Thanks Neil.

I dont really know hoe I fixed mine but I can say what I did. Hope it works for you too. I turned off the phone and removed the battery and after a restart it was still broken. I repeated it again but this time after it booted up I pushed *# the phone then locked up and made a squealing noise. I turned it off and restarted again......fixed. I really dont know what I did but it might be worth a try.

Hello. for those who unable to get gps satelite data with their n95/n95 8gb, pls uninstall properly and check the gps antenna is connected to the pcb or not. alot of n95 user claims that n95 gps is not working. actually its working. just ur antenna is not connected properly to the antenna pin connector. What you need to do is adjust the antenna pin a little bit longer so can connect to the pcb surface. You also can clean the pcb surface using sandpaper or use penknife to scratch it. IMPORTANT: when you want to install the antenna part back, pls make sure the pin is not accidentally pressed and become OPEN with the PCB. Alot of outside there having this problem cannot get gps signal because their device is not connected properly with the antenna. Alot of nokia or AP set / recond set is changed/installed new housing without knowledge. This cause n95 buyer feel disappointed.
I've done alot of this n95 b4. and its 100% working unless your firmware really got bug.

“Downloaded this latest f/w and so far no probs, works perfectly. It’s about time they got something right at Nokia……”

In fairness, the n95 is easily the best phone i’ve owned and the frequent Firmware updates (I think mine has had 3 now) keep it fresh and interesting.
